Letter From the Chairman of the Board to OHH Membership - Oilfield Helping Hands
Letter From the Chairman of the Board to OHH Membership

To our OHH family:

2020 was an unusual year for OHH, and for all of us to endure. There was not any part of our lives or jobs that did not feel the repercussions of the emergence of COVID-19.  To buy TP or not buy TP? To stay inside or go outside? To fly or drive? What is actually six feet apart? Like these day-to-day impacts, the financial ramifications were felt by all of us as well. This was no different for OHH. However, through the generosity of countless supporters, many choosing to give through our DONATE page on our website as well as in some other creative ways, our mission endured. These recurring donations will remain a key part to keeping the wheels turning, and I thank each and every donor for your contribution.

Although some chapters were forced to scale back their live events, many were able to keep fundraising events in motion, in some form and fashion. Understandably, our event revenue was down in 2020, but as I alluded to, we managed to still have a successful year, funding our qualifying assistance requests and COVID-19 relief efforts. This year, OHH will be holding all events that local guidelines permit. While some may need to be scaled back or relocated, we will endeavor to persevere to raise funds to help oilfield families in need.

The generosity of our oilfield community was and is amazing, shining through the commotion of 2020. November was especially memorable when the group, #EnergyFinTwit, (EFT) set up a fundraising challenge benefitting OHH.  With a commitment to match contributions up to $100,000, the challenge generated $88,877 in donations … with EFT generously gifting their $100,000 in full!  The close of 2020 has given us a bright start to 2021.

Looking ahead, OHH is also looking to expand to the Marcellus Shale, South Texas, and Oklahoma regions. We need leadership and volunteers to accomplish this goal. To learn more about starting a chapter, please visit our website and reach out to our team.

Lastly, I want to extend my gratitude to the OHH Board of Directors, our chapter leadership and our remarkable group of volunteers for a job well done navigating through last year. I believe our organization is stronger due to their efforts.

I invite you to get involved in supporting our mission and become a part of the OHH family.

On behalf of the OHH Board of Directors, we thank you for your support!
