Houston’s inaugural OHH Pistol Shoot was a huge success, hosting more teams than ever before. Forty-eight teams of four competitors (192 shooters) helped the organization to raise approximately $34,785. This is extremely encouraging due to the current market climate.
“Several companies stepped up to help us make the first OHH Pistol Shoot memorable by providing either cash or services,” said Pistol Shoot Chairman Jim Adams. “I’d like to personally thank Stonehenge Production, Premier Directional Drilling, Bourland & Leverich, KEY Energy Services, FMC Technologies, Control Flow, Inc., Bronco Oilfield Services, SPT Energy Group and Shooter Station.”
Adams also commends the even volunteers for a job well done.
“Our volunteers were awesome,” he said. “And they kept on coming to volunteer right up to the morning of the shoot! This year was the smoothest that the shoot has gone and the credit for that has to be given to them. Thanks to our volunteer organizer Tina Thomas and all who participated.”
The Pistol Shoot showcased shooting clays, bowling pins, steel plates and the “stump,” which are not often provided to a team of shooters.
“Many of the teams are already plotting how they will come back and do better next time,” said Adams. “And we are plotting how we will hold the next OHH Pistol Shoot in 2016 and keep them coming back!”
